"Right now I am going to act like a vehicle, but once the opportunity arises I will become a pedestrian and you better watch out cause if you hit me, it is totally your fault. I mean yes, I was acting erratically and breaking some rules, but totally your fault"

I like the newest avatar. I just have one question: was it passed down the family line through generations?

I'm pretty sure this was not meant to be serious.

As somebody who does both (I bike to class most days and drive occasionally) I've seen assholes on both sides of the equation.

If this article were on Jalopnik (with a different premise) you would probably laughing your ass of. I know that, on a motorcycle, you have to believe every car on the road is trying to kill you or you will be killed.

Of course, we could retaliate with an article on how bicycle riders obey the law whenever it suits them. How they think they are juuuust enough of a vehicle to ride on the street and expect you to yield to them, but they are enough pedestrian to ride on sidewalks, on the wrong side of the road, through stop signs like they aren't there, ect.

Actually as a cyclist I would probobly call bull shit on that too. It dosen't matter what people drive or ride, cocks are going to be cocks.

I ride both too and I know a lot of people are assholes. It might mean to be taken as a joke but honestly after I've been scouring bike forums to find a good road bike I could easily see some of the extremest writing this article.

I've had a cyclist scream at me for his "3 feet" when I was hugging the next lane as much as I could since I saw him, though it was on a 6 lane very busy road in the middle of rush hour... Dunno what else he wanted, he was a dick. Yes, I was on my phone, but I was giving him more room than others. He just wanted to feel victimized.

The worst cyclists are the ones in replica jerseys from the Tour de France, as if their training for that and the Giro d'Italia.

I mean, I don't don a fire suit, racing boots and gloves, and a helmet when I'm driving to work.

Meh. Who cares what some turd in London on a bike thinks? Just because he has a "soapbox" I'm supposed to give his opinion some arbitrary amount of "weight"? Naaaah. Guess again skippy.

I will, at every opportunity, afford a bicyclist every courtesy that he shows me. In other words, act like a prick, I'm going to treat you like a bitch. Follow the rules of the road and get along like the rest of us and, well, good on ya for doing your part to offset the huge wastes of fossil fuels I'm making and I'll gladly afford you every courteous gesture I'm able.

Basically, I'm gonna treat you as I do every other driver on the road. Easy-peeezy.

No, not really. Those are just really comfy when going long distances. I wouldn't be able to go more than 20 miles without spandex.

Devil's Advocate -

What is the first rule of driving amidst other drivers? Always think that others are out to get you!

Don't think that person needed to write a whole article instead though.

Yeas but not going so far as to insult them. Yeah you need to think everyone is trying to kill you but don't be a dick about it.

Heh, fair enough. I've strayed away from cycling forums for a while now.
